The Regulars (2025)

August 19th, 2025
Author: Meredith Taylor

Wri/Dir: Fil Freitas | Doc 2025

The Regulars follows a day in the life of London’s iconic Prince Charles Cinema and the tireless team that run it. Their greatest perk is to watch the movies old and new but dealing with the general public – and each other – provides the film with its most ironic moments all lovingly brought together by Fil Freitas who also stars as himself and directs the cast of fellow employees.

Rolling out of bed late for his shift a tired worker scrambles into a tee shirt and heads for Leicester Square. This is Fil Freitas, one time usher and now the manager at the Prince Charles Cinema. The life experience of his time at the iconic theatre helps to give the film an authentic ‘cinema verite’ feel, offering a behind the scenes look at a place where cult classics and current releases entertain locals and a regular fanbase that travels from far and wide to enjoy its eclectic programming. @MeredithTaylor

The Regulars opens in select UK cinemas from August 22 2025
