Based on Stephen King’s first-written novel, and directed by Francis Lawrence, the visionary director of The Hunger Games franchise. THE LONG WALK, is a real chiller that challenges audiences to confront a haunting question: how far could you go?
It sees 50 men pitted together in a dystopian nightmare that mirrors the current political situation in the Uk today where each day brings a fresh horror at the hands of Labour’s Rachel in accounts as we face an impending social and financial nightmare.
Here in the aftermath of an unnamed war that occurred two decades previously the walk takes us through an America devastated by economic meltdown.
The participants actually elect to be part of the walk and are chosen in a nationwide lottery. Why anyone would want to put themselves through such a tortuous trial is never discussed – presumably their efforts aim to signify a certain stoicism and glory emblematic of ‘Make America Great Again’ but the winner gets to choose whatever they want along with a cash bonus guaranteed to set them up for life. Gruelling but impressive nonetheless @MeredithTaylor
