Although today largely forgotten, this fanciful avant garde short by Belgian surrealist filmmaker Georges Hugnetos pastiching the silent serials of Louis Feuillade now enjoys a new lease of life and can today be appreciated in an excellent print on YouTube; in which the wonderfully named Kissa Kouprane plays an early example of that great Twentieth Century archetype, the catsuited female jewel thief.
Virtually plotless, it follows the criminal activities of Mme Kouprane as she capers about in a figure-hugging outfit; the screen sometimes completely teeming with multiple versions of this wicked woman.
