Dossier 137 (2025)

May 16th, 2025
Author: Meredith Taylor

DIR: Dominik Moll | FRANCE Crime thriller 115′

This uninvolving police procedural in the main competition at this year’s CANNES FILM FESTIVAL follows the real events that occurred when a young ‘gilet jaune’ was shot and badly injured by a special police force.

Lea Drucker is captivating as Stephanie, the police agent from IGPN (the police of police) tasked with investigating police crimes and misdemeanours, but the outcome of the story is predicable,

Dominik Moll’s pristine and capable direction ensures a seamless watch. People hate the police for their often heavy-handed approach to their job of keeping the peace. And you can see where Moll’s sympathy lies. How about you? @MeredithTaylor
