The 44th Torino Film Festival, running from 24 November to 2 December 2026 under the artistic direction of Giulio Base, celebrates the centenary of Marilyn Monroe’s birth with a major retrospective of 24 films.
The festival’s poster features one of her final portraits, taken by George Barris in Santa Monica in 1962, three original prints of which have been acquired by Turin’s National Museum of Cinema.

Opening at the prestigious Teatro Regio, with Ambra Angiolini co-hosting the ceremony, this year’s edition reaffirms the TFF’s commitment to auteur cinema, independent filmmaking and emerging talent. Its programme brings together 120 titles across six sections, including three competition strands for features, documentaries and shorts, with the majority of screenings presented as premieres.
Female filmmakers are particularly prominent, reflected in the three competition jury presidents: Francesca Archibugi, Stefania Casini and Chiara Francini. An impressive international guest list includes John Travolta, Fanny Ardant, Isabelle Huppert, Andy Garcia, Pamela Anderson, Luc Besson, Stephen Frears and Josh Safdie, alongside leading Italian actors and filmmakers.
